JOEL ESCALONA STUDIO is a design practice creating sculptural furniture at the intersection of art and function.

Each piece is made to order with a focus on form, material, and craftsmanship that reveals itself slowly.

All furniture production takes place in Mexico, where traditional craftsmanship meets advanced manufacturing. Projects are developed with care, emphasizing material integrity and tactile presence.

Designs are crafted in small batches or as limited editions, intended for private collections, interior design projects, and public spaces across art, design, and architecture.

About JOEL ESCALONA

Born in 1986 and based in Mexico, Joel Escalona's work explores the power of objects to transcend their function. His creations live in the space between extremes, too present to ignore, too restrained to overwhelm. Focusing on form and sensation, each piece is designed to be felt as much as seen, inviting experiences of tranquility, tension, and quiet permanence in the everyday.

"Good design is felt as much as seen. It grabs you, moves you, and refuses to fade."

Joel finds beauty in imperfection and the tactile. For him, design isn't just visual. It's about the curved edge that asks for your palm, the surface that invites you to linger. His pieces embrace organic forms that reflect the natural world's unpredictability, giving each object its own presence. "True beauty lies in the spaces between perfection and imperfection, in forms that reveal themselves slowly."
