Socle 24 Dining Table
The Socle Table 24 is one of my favorite shapes. It came after several iterations, adjusting the form until the proportions and balance felt natural and convincing. The relationships between the elements matter here. How they sit, how they carry weight, how the table holds itself in space.
What I’m most drawn to is the base. It is unusual for me. It is not trying to read as sculpture. It is doing something more expressive, almost instinctive. The stacked volumes create tension and movement, but without excess. They feel intentional, present, and alive.
The top stays calm above it all, letting the base carry the emotion. Together they feel grounded without being heavy. Structural, but not rigid. A plinth rethought as something quieter, more open, and meant to live with.
