Scale, Softened

Scarpa Dining Table

This Scarpa table was made as a special piece, pushing the scale further than usual. It is one of the largest dining tables we have ever produced. It keeps the familiar Scarpa cylindrical legs, solid and calm, while the top takes cues from the Solace coffee tables, softer in outline and more fluid in how it occupies space.

Proportion was key. Large, but not heavy. Present, but still inviting. The table needed to hold its size without becoming imposing, allowing the mass to feel composed rather than dominant.

One of my favorite details is the fillet on the cover top. It is subtle, almost quiet, but it changes everything. The edge feels refined and intentional, letting the surface read lighter than it really is. A small gesture, carried with care. The table sits between architecture and furniture, grounded by its base, softened by its curves, shaped to live comfortably in the room.
