The faceted cuts in Solace could be read as decoration, but they are really structural decisions. I used them to build the bases, not to add something afterward.
We first tried the idea on coffee tables. It worked, but the low height and wide tops hid too much. On the consoles, every face becomes visible. The piece changes as you walk past it.
That is why the console became the right form for Solace concept. It stands near the entrance, where those cuts can be seen and enjoyed every time you come home.
