As every year, the second week of February marked the beginning of Art Week Mexico City. With different events happening around town, we took part in one of the most important ones during this week: ZⓢONAMACO, the leading contemporary art and design fair in Latin America, has been known for showcasing work by the most prominent artists and galleries from around the world. The design section, carefully curated by Cecilia León de la Barra, presented the latest creations by the most important designers in the scene and their collaborations with renowned Mexican companies, as ours with Breuer.

Laws of Motion is Joel’s first collectible design series for Breuer, in which through different typologies like mirrors, tables and seats, the collection articulates flawless production execution on behalf of the company and the level of introspection achieved by Joel Escalona. At first, this collection aims to explore concrete concepts such as gravity, force or movement, and how they can be expressed as design pieces, which at first glance seem static, but hide a second unexpected personal meaning.

This year the fair had around 60,000 visitors, but if you were not one of the lucky attendants, here is a look of what happened during the most important event for art and design in Mexico City.
