NONO at ZⓈONAMACO Diseño 2026: Domestic Monuments

Domestic Monuments defines NONO’s 2026 presentation. From JOEL ESCALONA STUDIO, we approach furniture as architecture at a domestic scale. Not as accent, but as structure. Pieces that anchor a space. Objects with the quiet authority of monuments, designed to live close to everyday life. A dining table organizes gathering. A console introduces a pause. A sculpture holds the rhythm of the room.

At NONO, monumentality is not measured by size, but by presence, proportion, and restraint. Objects feel grounded. They carry mass without excess. Curves soften volume. Solid wood absorbs light. Each piece takes its place with clarity, without imposing itself. The monumental enters the home not to impress, but to remain.

Founded in Mexico City in 2011, NONO is the furniture project of Joel Escalona, who serves as Creative Director of the brand through Joel Escalona Studio. The studio’s work moves between design, art, and production, combining advanced processes with patient craftsmanship. Precision and time. Control and material.

This selection will be presented from February 4 to 8 at ZⓈONAMACO Diseño, a consolidated platform for the exhibition, collection, and discussion of contemporary design in Mexico and internationally, where designers, galleries, curators, and institutions converge.

On view are the Socle Dining Tables and new Socle Side Tables, plinths reimagined as tables that structure the act of gathering. The Solace series returns, now as console tables, with a sculptural, quiet, and poised presence. Still Stand, one of the studio’s earliest sculptural series, appears alongside new pieces, collaborations, and recent explorations.

Everything shown is designed by Joel Escalona through his studio.
These objects do not rush. They stay.
